Power Distribution
We regularly install electrical services and power distribution systems in all types of facilities ranging across New England and New York State. In the last two year our service area has extended into the Midwest with two projects worth $1,300,000.00.
We, for example, have recently completed a new switchboard installation for Raytheon Company in Bedford, Massachusetts and a new distribution system for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Central Service Facility in Charlestown. We have also completed the total relocation of the power distribution facility for the Pease Air Force Base Fuel Supply Depot. The overhead systems were removed and a new strategically secure underground distribution system was installed. This project involved power, pump control, fire alarm, and paging systems. In the recent past we completed the utilities redistribution for the Jackson Laboratory Facilities in Bar Harbor, Maine. This project included 34.5KV overhead and underground, 15KV and 5KV, 480-volt distribution, and a 1.5MW cogeneration system. In the last few years, projects have been completed for:
- University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Massachusetts
- Westover Air Force Base, Westfield, Massachusetts
- Parker/Hannifin Corporation, Nichols Aircraft Division, Waltham, Massachusetts
- Waltham/Weston Hospital and Medical Center, Waltham, Massachusetts
- U.S. Navy, Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine
- Oswego, New York Terminal
- Weymouth, Massachusetts Terminal
- Sprague Energy, Newington, New Hampshire Terminal, Bucksport, Maine Terminal
- MBTA, Middleboro, Massachusetts, Layover Facility
- Poland Springs, Seabrook, New Hampshire
- University of New Hampshire, Site Development 2001, Durham, New Hampshire
- ConEd, Intake/Discharge Station, Newington, New Hampshire
- Hawkeye Energy, Newington Station, Newington, New Hampshire
- Manchester Airfield, Manchester, New Hampshire
- Genetics Institute, Andover, Massachusetts
- Raytheon Corporation, Bedford, Massachusetts
The projects vary in value from $100,000.00 to well over $1,000,000.00 and require up to 18 months to complete. We also provide many of our customers with fast track project support.
We usually act on these projects as are our own General Contractor in order to control the project and its costs more efficiently. We find we are able to more closely control the project than those contractors who perform ordinary subcontracting scope of work and we complete these projects on time within the owner's budget.
We would expect with the restructuring of electric utility rates, associated primary metering installations, and power factor correction projects will in the next 5 years will create a significant need to most heavy power users. We intend to be part of the solution
